Wrap Up of the 2017 AOPA Policy Forum
New Legislation Introduced
Last week’s Policy Forum was another successful one for the record books. With the broader healthcare debate going on in Washington and across America, AOPA members came to DC to discuss the issues most important to them and their patients with their lawmakers.
The big story of the Policy Forum was the introduction in the 115th Congress of S.1191 and H.R. 2599, better known as the Medicare O&P Improvement Act of 2017. This bill, among other things, would separate O&P from DME, and allow orthotist’s and prosthetist’s notes to be part of the medical record for determining medical necessity. Read the full wrap up and see the photos.
